A friendship (?)

Can we be friends?

Befriending an animal is by far one of the greatest gifts on earth. Sharing a deep bond with a companion animal is a highly emotional experience for many of us humans: our pets are often our best friends and therefore part of our families.

The questions if we can be friends with animals could therefore be answered with a clear yes.

But when it comes to our relationships with wild animals, intuitively some doubts are coming up. Can we really befriend them? Can we create and maintain a bond to the wild?

In this gallery, I want to present you a special wild one:

a heron who visits regularly a park near where I live and who - as far as we can assess - likes to befriend its visitors.
